Free Materials to Market Your Toastmasters Club

In which I share the free resources I use to market my club

Marketing your Toastmasters club is no easy feat, which makes it a great way to grow your leadership skills.  I can't count the number of times I've been asked to proofread a home made club flyer.  Stop making your own flyers people, seriously.  You don't have to re-invent the wheel.  Although Toastmasters International does not actively advertise, it has many resources clubs can use in their own marketing.  Toastmasters International did the heavy lifting and has created some beautiful, professional marketing materials for our use.

Free Brochures

Each club officer is able to get 20 copies of several brochures nearly free, with a small charge for postage.  Each of these brochures has a convenient spot on the back for a sticker with your club's information on it.  These brochures can be ordered online or via phone to (949)858-8255, by using item numbers 99, 101, and 354.

Free Magazines 

Each club officer is able to get 20 copies of old magazines by calling Toastmasters International and asking for them.  There will be a small charge for postage.  The address blocks on the magazines will be empty and are about the same size as the empty space on the brochures, making it a great spot to add your club's information. 

Printable Fliers

Whether you are looking to generally advertise your club, or promote a special occasion, Toastmasters International has created the flier for you.  PDF fliers, into which you can type your club's customized information, are available in the Resource Library.  My favorites are the "Marketing Flier" and "Open House Flier" - both of which can also be found by going to Toastmasters International and searching those terms.  I've also found the "Become a Better Leader" and "Find Your Voice" fliers helpful.  

Press Release Templates 

Spreading the word about the Toastmasters program to your local news can be a great way to bring in visitors.  You can announce upcoming events, members awards, and anniversaries to the world.  Pre-scriped press releases, into which you simply add some details, are available here.
